Paintings

This series of small paintings is the result of thinking through ideas and experimenting with paint and colours. The process  pushes me to detach myself from the subject. As I paint in a more relaxed manner the intuition inevitably takes over. I believe these small scale paintings created a kind of cross pollination with my larger scale paintings. They work hand in hand.

Nature is my source of inspiration and the only way to understand its complexity is to represent it figuratively. Drawing keeps me connected with the landscape.
